US Fall Tour starts this Friday at ACL

Hello friends

How have you been? How was your Summer/Winter? Mine was great. I started reading the George R.R. Martin Songs of Ice and Fire books. I think half the reading universe did the same. Now I dream of dragons. Awesome. I didn’t expose my flesh to the sun that much and when I did I wore so much sunscreen I looked more ghostly than normal.

Our Summer started with two awesome shows at Lollapalooza in Chicago and Osheaga in Montreal. If you came out and saw us, thankssssss!!! They were a lot of fun!!!! Minds were blown, blood was spilt, porta-loos were avoided.

‘NOT MINE’ VIDEO COMING SOON
We headed to New York City in between Lollapalooza and Osheaga and we shot a music video for ‘Not Mine’ with the lovely and talented Amelia Tovey. It’s coming soon. Get ready. There aren’t any dragons in it. We just couldn’t squeeze them into the budget.

US FALL TOUR
This week we head out on our US Fall Tour! We start off in Austin, TX at Austin City Limits festival. We are super pumped about this. Austin is one of our favourite places to play in the whole universe. ‘BRAIN ON A TABLE’ VIDEO COMPETITION
If you are coming to any of our Fall dates in the US keep an eye on our Facebook Page for a cool competition we are going to be running.

Basically we need you to help us make a music video for our song ‘Brain on a Table.’ Each night we will be handing the video camera over to one of you to film the entire song from a different vantage point (we’ll tell you where) either in the room somewhere or on stage. At the end of the tour we’ll edit it all together and use footage from each night. We’ll be posting all details soon so stay in touch!

GERMANY/SWITZERLAND CO-HEADLINE TOUR W/ TIM NEUHAUS
After that we skip over to Europe and start a co-headline tour with Tim Neuhaus. Tim is also of ginger persuasion but I swear that had nothing to do with us agreeing to this tour. Tim recently put out a fantastic record called The Cabinet. We are very excited about hearing it every night.

While we are in Germany we are also playing the Rolling Stone Weekender festival with a whole bunch of awesome bands like Death Cab for Cutie, Nada Surf and Explosions in the Sky to name but a few. We are also very excited to play our first ever show in Amsterdam at the London Calling Festival! Neither Damon or I have been to Amsterdam. I predict trouble in the most legal of ways.

Of course during all these shows I will still be reading reading the George R.R. Martin A Song of Ice and Fire saga. I will be happy to discuss with any other book nerds. I have even heard there is a board game!!!!!!!!! If only there was time to play before our set each night. Oh well.

FALLS AND SOUTHBOUND FESTIVALS
Just as it gets to be far too cold in Canada for my tropical blood I  will head to Australia to meet up with Damon again to play Falls Festival. One night in Lorne, one night in Marion Bay. Dreamy. We are so excited to be playing these awesome festivals in Australia. Not only does it mean that Damon doesn’t have to fly for 30 hours, it means we get to eat lamingtons* and prawns (yeah…I guess I have to fly for 30 hours but I would fly for 100 hours for a lamington).

We are also playing the Southbound Festival on January 7th in Bussleton, Western Australia. This is basically my birthday show. Pretty cool birthday. Consider this your invite to my birthday party. Other bands on these 3 amazing festivals include Arctic Monkeys, Fleet Foxes, Beirut, J Mascis, Tim Finn, The Grates, CSS & more.
