Clark, Audrey’s frozen from the waist down.

Hello Yuletide friends

How are you? Christmas is fast approaching. It’s not really a big deal for everyone I know, I know. I love Christmas because it means I am eating too much seafood with friends, usually in Australia. These last few years I have had Christmas in Canada which has been been so beautiful. Who knew that Christmas wasn’t just a time for spending long days at the beach getting sunburnt? It’s also a time for snow and lots of food. I guess that’s why, back in Australia, people suffer through hot roast lunches even though it’s 34c outside. This year I am super happy to be spending Christmas in an airplane. Yes seriously and I am actually not that bummed about it. I don’t fly out till Christmas evening so I get the whole day to be merry with my loved ones. I am also hoping that Christmas day will mean empty airports and empty planes. Nothing like sleeping across 3 seats that you haven’t paid for for 16 hours. FINGERS CROSSED.

FALLS AND SOUTHBOUND FESTIVALS
I am flying home to Australia to play with Damon at Falls Festival in both Lorne, Vic and Marion Bay, Tas. We are so looking forward to playing these festivals! Summer festivals in our own country! So many great bands are playing like Fleet Foxes, Arctic Monkeys, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Beirut, J Mascis and lots more. It’s going to be great. Also on January 7th we are playing the Southbound festival in Busselton, WA! On January 8th Damon and I will celebrate my birthday by catching a red eye flight home and talking about Goldie Hawn’s prolific career. It’s all I have ever wanted from a birthday.

Finally I just want to say thanks so much for listening this year. We have some truly amazing fans and we are so grateful for every one of you. If you didn’t listen, only our Mum’s would and that would make it very difficult to keep playing in the vast array of amazing countries
we get to play in. Walls came out in April of this year and we have spent the better half of it touring the world playing to you guys. We understand how lucky we are so, thank you.

Now it’s the season to be merry. Go and watch Christmas Vacation. I have already watched it but I will no doubt watch it again before I head to the Southern Hemisphere. You should do the same. It’s always this time of the year that I enter my Goldie Hawn phase. (I can’t go
deep on this now. Just know that it happens every year since I was little. It’s a strange phenomenon that affects my sister and I. She is in Australia right now planning my Goldie Hawn-a-thon birthday party. I am tossing up between going as Private Benjamin OR Gwen Philips). I was literally just thinking about how great Christmas Vacation would have been if Goldie had a cameo, (honestly EVERY film would benefit from a Goldie cameo) when I read this on imdb : “The old Dodge pickup that tailgates Clark and the family in the opening scenes of the movie was previously used as ‘Kurt Russell”s work truck in the movie Overboard.”

AMAZING. The world is so connected.

Sail safe. Love lovers, it’s Christmas after all. Let them know what they mean to you.
